Super Man | December 13, 2008
I'd like to close this week's round of portraiture with a photograph of my father, Fausto Cardelli. A father, artist, teacher and simply brilliant human being. He's a major strength in my life.
Portraiture holds a special place in my artistic aspirations. They are, in my eyes, intimate by design. There's real power in people. Everyone, thanks for leaving your thoughts throughout the week. A deviation from one's known subject matter doesn't always yield positive results. Yet, I believe it's essential to artistic growth. So, thanks for sticking around!

I've observed that for years and had people tell me it was my imagination. Nice to see your Father. Dads are special. I miss mine dearly. Wonderful portrait.

Fausto Cardelli @ December 14, 2008 - Man, I can't believe you've posted a whole week of portraits and I wasn't around to check them out (things have been kinda busy). It looks like you've posted a great set of images here. And, what a great shot to finish with.
As for the comment about expecting a certain type of image. I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. It shows what a strong visual identity you've created.

Particularly like how the barn red band, brick band, and dark shadow band form a sort of tri-color flag-like backdrop; a flag of fatherhood, so to speak.
