• I didn't have the same reaction as you. Of course I wasn't there and I know what you mean about a feeling. I had the same feeling when I was down the road capturing my current image. As I look at your capture, I'm in awe. It's as if this old place with it's tree that no doubt shades it in Summer is sitting on top of the earth. I love it.

• The house reminds me of the one from the movie Gone With The Wind. A fascinating photo. At first glance it's minimalist, but after some inspection there's quite a bit more. Stunning.

• In both color and composition, a gorgeous image.
  Your 'eccentric' lining up of the edge of the tree to that of the back of the house, has created a visual paradox. Are we looking at a really gigantic tree, or, a really tiny house ?
  The dribbling of dark underbrush that moves from bottom left, and falls out of the picture as it moves to the right, also adds to the oddly 'poltergeist-ish' quality of the image.

• I agree about the composition. It's quite unusual and it works very well. You hardly ever see the subject and the very edge of the frame like that.
