Photography as time travel. I hear the snap from turning the knob, then the buzz, and the hiss. I hear the reels scrape the case in slow, steady rhythm. “Now, this is music!” he says as I anticipate the first note. I’m in my grandma’s basement with my dad. Thanks for the lift, Cardelli!
